Macbooks are great ! They are fast, noiseless and they have a pretty good design. They don't need anti-virus because they don't get virus, but if you want to get it protected, you can dowload free software from www.macupdate.com. you'll never regret it!

I own a MacBook Pro. I originally wanted a MacBook, but I came across a great deal on a refurbished MacBook Pro.

Anyways... All of the information I have about MacBooks? You can't be serious. I would be up all night writing that book. Do a search on Wikipedia for that kind of information. Let me just say this, you will not regret buying a MacBook. They are wonderful machines. You won't be needing any "anti-virus" software. Macs do receive security updates and software updates. Most of the updates I receive on my Mac are nothing more than improvements to Apple's great software. Macs actually come with a trial of Microsoft Office for Mac, but there's also Apple's iWork, which is great. There are also free solutions, such as NeoOffice, which is a port of OpenOffice.org for Mac. It's highly compatible with Microsoft Office and nearly the same in features. My MacBook Pro has great battery life and it's extremely fast. It's actually replaced my desktop Mac as my main computer. I absolutely love this machine. It goes everywhere with me. Don't forget, Macs can also run Windows XP natively alongside Mac OS X, meaning that there's nothing you can't do on a Mac.

I own a MacBook (Black).

It comes with a lot of software, and you can get free software like Open Office (the open source answer to Microsoft Office) and many other programs, including virus protection. Check out VersionTracker.com and look in the Mac section.

You will love the MacBook. Enjoy!

I have no real personal experience with Mac products; however my daughter (a professional screen writer) and a recent convert to Mac has had nothing but great things to say about it. Her raves have been so high that I am going to buy a new Intel Mac as my next computer.
The Intel Macs can run Windows as well as OS X, this will make my transition easier and I won't have to re-purchase all my Windows programs for Mac versions. Best of both worlds.

As far as anti virus programs.............not required as long as you are only running Mac's OS X because nobody is writing viruses to attack Macs as yet.

White one can get dirty and scratched VERY easily, if that kind of thing matters to you.
