If if was illegal, wouldn't the police or FBI or whoever stop it? How is it illegal? Peer to peer is legal, isn't it?

Sharing files, pictures, and any non-copyrighted material is perfectly legal.

But copyrighted material like Music is illegal.

Limewire is still around because they can necessarily be held responsible for their product being used for illegal purposes. Its the same argument that keeps gun makers from being sued when someone uses one of their guns to rob a gas station or something.

Peer to peer file sharing of copyrighted material is illegal. Not everything that is shared over limewire is necessarily illegal, but most of it is.

It is not illegal. It is illegal to download copyrighted material with it.

It's the fact that the music is uncopyrighted. That's why it's illegal and it can't be stopped because there isn't any proof at all in it.
