This is very easy. Hockey is rougher. When you watch hockey on TV you think, that hit did not look that bad, the guy is still moving, unlike Football where they all hit and then they lie on the field waiting for someone to help them up.
Hockey is fluid. The guy getting hit on the boards or in open ice is moving faster than any football player is. And the person making the hit is also moving. Most hockey players are around 6 feet and weigh over 200 pounds, but it is all muscle. So the force of the hit is harder. However, hockey players, unlike football players, are conditioned to get back up and keep on playing. Not lie around on the field like a baby and wait for some other baby to come and help you up and then slap your a.s.s.

I'm a huge hockey fan but i'd have to say football. Its pretty funny watching a bunch of lame meatheads run into each other over and over to just move a football a couple yards at a time. What Idiots! Hockey is a sport that requires skill from every player not just one or two (quarterback and receiver). For hockey the fights are a plus.

hockey - whenever they show the biggest football hits they are hockey style shoulder hits, not wrap-up tackles that usually happen in football. also, there is fighting and stick work, like slashing and high sticking, in hockey that can get pretty nasty in a chippy game that's not a part of football. finally, you're in an enclosed space with hard boards and ice and guys going a lot faster on skates than they would be on foot. you can't run out of bounds to avoid a hit or take a quarterback slide.

For one game I would say football. The players are larger and as such it hurts more when you are tackled in the open field rather than simply being checked into the boards (although clean open ice hits hurt like hell). But over a season with out a doubt its hockey. For one you play 3-4 hockey games per week vs 1 game per week and its 82 games for the regular season not just 16. The playoffs are at BEST 16 games (assuming you sweep all 4 rounds) for football its only 3 or 4.

Football. Hockey is a contact sport....football is a collision sport. Everyone that is on the field (except really the QB) is suppose to hit someone. In hockey, you can really only be hit when you have the puck. Having said that, some of the hits in hockey may be rougher because of the speed that you can get going on skates.

HOCKEY ALL OF THE WAY
hockey is easier to get injured, even when ur stretching. in hockey they get stitches with no numbing and go back out and play. in football sometimes there is a guy piled under a group, but in hockey, you're always moving. in hockey fights they go on and on sometimes cause refs don't wanna get hurt and in football, they break it up easily. in hockey, its hard to get penalized, in football its easier, so that gets rough emotionally at the refs.

Both in different ways. Football everybody gets hit, but you know when it's coming and you're ready for it. Not so in Hockey. anybody can be hit in any place at anytime. from any direction as well, as long as it's not from directly behind. You can't have pads everywhere, or just where you're going to get hit, because you can be hit anywhere. You also can't wear as many pad (unless you're a goalie) because moving fast is essential. So I would have to go with Hockey.
Besides, a puck is much harder then a football.

I'd probably say generally football is allowed to be more rough but hockey can have a lot of violence in it (ex. fights). Even though football is rough hockey is more dangerous. In my opinion football is better.
