It shouldn't be too bad... We were there on Christmas day and a few days afterward. Christmas day was nuts.... 65,000 people. they closed the doors at that point (had reached capacity)
but the days following weren't too bad. I recommend getting to the park about an hour early. You'll have to get in line to have your bags checked (if bringing one in) and then get in line to buy tickets. Have a good time. If its your first time, definitely use FastPass on the rides you really want to go on. If you plan to go to California Adventure, go about lunch time if you plan on eating the park food, cause its better over there and more selection. Otherwise go to New Orleans area for lunch....

They have been extreamly busy this week. I had heard that they suspended ticket sales for a while to Disneyland at about 11am today(1/3), but resumed them later on in the day. I would get there early, they open at 8am the ticket booths open at about 7:30am. If you are there by mid-morning you should be okay. You first need to go through the bag check which can take about 15 minutes early in the morning. For tickets give it 15-30 minutes. Once you have your tickets expect another 15-20 minutes to get in.
Space Mountain just started a promotion called "Rockin Space Mountain", this is basically a music overlay with the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the Ride. I would get a FastPass on this ride as soon as you get there as they were all gone by mid day and at 7pm the StandBy wait time was still 80 minutes.

On 1/4, Disneyland opens at 8am. If you get there one hour early, that should give you time to walk to and take the tram from the parking garage to the main entry plaza. Since it's Thursday and not a peak season, it should not be too crowded. There are plenty of places to get a quick breakfast just inside Disneyland. The Main Street USA area is usually open in advance of the rest of the park.

Tomorrow is Thursday, and it's in one of the slowest seasons, so if you get there early, maybe about 30 minutes or less before opening, you should get right in. If you go a little later, the lines will have thinned out some. I'd say either way you're going to average about 15 minutes to get your ticket, and then about 15 minutes to get through the security turnstiles.
Have fun! I'm jealous...I don't get to go until the 23rd! But we're staying 5 days, so it'll be fun.
Enjoy!

Single day admission to Disneyland is only available at the tickets booths near the park entrances, or by phone, this is the one day one park ticket. The one day hopper is available online and you can print at home now. I have never seen a one day ticket offered anywhere but at the park. Get there early and have one of you with an AP wait with your ticketless friend and ask if they have a discount with an AP. Have the rest of your group get in line to enter the park.

The line to get in and buy a ticket does not take that long. What takes long is waiting in line for any of the rides. Some of them are couple of hours before to get to the front of the line. Wear comfortable shoes and have fun!

They have really expanded the ticket lines so it won't take more than 10 minutes. The wait will be at the tram and the lines for the fast pass.

DO NOT BUY A TICKET AT THE GATE IF YOU CAN HELP IT!
buy one online if you can, youll save a bundle; if you don't have enough time for that, go to your nearest Disney store in a shopping mall for a modest discount.
