I've had a great pregnancy so far but these past few days I haven't been hungry. I practically have to force myself to eat sometimes. Today I had half of a half of a sandwich and was completely stuffed. I have also felt extremely thirsty and never have enough water or liquids. Has this happenned to anyone else is it normal? I plan on asking my doctor tomorrow but I do want to know how others dealt with this or something similar. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I feel the same way, and I'm (almost) 38 weeks. I think it has a lot to do with how much space the baby is taking up--and how little space it leaves for your stomach. It makes sense, considering that doctors will usually tell you to eat very small meals throughout the day to make digestion easier (and lessen heartburn) when you're pregnant. I've also been pretty thirsty, but its not too out of the norm for me.
half of half of a sandwich in one day sounds like very little to me, despite my own lack of appetite...so maybe you'll want to give your OB a quick call about it.

sorry I couldn't explain more to you, but at least you know someone else is having a similar experience.

This is completly normal! Your story sounds just like how I remember my last few weeks of pregnancy. Think about it: where is the food going to go? Your baby takes up a lot of space in your body now, which doesn't leave much room for your stomach (or lungs, I had a hard time breathing). Just make sure to eat when you can and eat healthy things like red/green peppers, apples and bananas because they are easy to digest and they will give you some vitamins and protein you may be lacking. Whatever you do, drink lots of water and take your prenatals. You're almost at the end, keep you head up!

Good LUCK!!!

Now iv never been pregnant but i my mom got pregnant when i was about 11. She found out she had a short term of diabities during her pregnancy. She was usually thirsty a lot and would eat much. She only had it through her pregnancy. Now i might be wrong soo dont get scared. Just wait for ur doctor to diagnose u or it might just be nothing and part of ur pregnancy. Good luck and hope u have a healthy baby girl or boy. Wish you the best & congrats!

This is completely normal. You have to remember that your stomach is squished up into your diaphragm at this point from the pregnancy. Also, the closer you get to giving birth, the lest interested in food you will be.
The increased thirst is also typically normal. I was drinking so much more water at the end of both my pregnancies. It takes a lot more fluid at the end of a pregnancy to sustain both you and your little one in there. Good luck in the next few weeks and congratulations!

That's one of the lovely joys of pregnancy! There toward the end, you have practically NO room left, lol! The baby takes up quite a bit of space, forcing your intestines up and thereby giving your stomach very little room to expand. Makes you feel full SO quickly, doesn't it?!
Fortunately, it is immediately cured by childbirth. That first meal after you have the baby will be heaven, I swear!

Just hold out for a couple more weeks, mama!

I have read a few places that loss of appetite can be signs that you may be getting ready to go into labor. A co-worker and I were just talking today, and she said that the 2-3 days before she had her son, she hardly ate anything at all. She said sometimes she would almost get sick at the sight or smell of food...she just wasn't hungry. You could just be getting ready to have your baby. I am 38 weeks, too. I am sure you are probably just as ready as I am. Just make sure, no matter how you feel, you keep yourself hydrated.

Durring my third pregnancy I had to force myself to eat every day. I totally lost my appetite. Sounds like your body has enough and just wants some water. So, yes it's normal. But still bring it up to your doctor.

The baby is pushing your stomach more and more out of the way and that is why you feel full. You just don't have that much room.

At the end of my pregnancy i was craving ice cubes, i was so thirsty i just would suck on them all day. I really don't know why...just a cooky craving us pregnant women can have.

As long as your drinking fluids and taking your prenatal vitamin, i wouldn't worry too much about eating. Do what makes you most comfortable and happy...you are 38 weeks pregnant! Eat what you crave and never force yourself to eat. Good luck!

Sounds like you might be getting ready to go into labor?
It happens sometimes, that women are so full when they are this late in pregnancy. Give your doc. a call.
