Seems like an intervention may need to be in order.
Your wife has a eating disorder, and she needs to get that treated as soon as possible.

Hi Solist -
Has your wife struggled with any kind of body image issues before? (Dieting, obsessive exercising, etc) Does she make derogatory comments about her body? Does she have any "weird" behaviour / rituals around food? Answering YES to any of those questions MAY indicate that she has an unhealthy relationship with food and could benefit from talking to a professional. I'm including a link to a website called Something Fishy which is an awesome resource for eating disorders.
Meanwhile, try encouraging her to take in small portions of simple / bland foods. Broths, rice, yogurt, etc.
There are many supplements on the market - things like Ensure or Boost may be a way to get some nutrition in while gradually increasing the amount of food eaten.
I know most of the others have mentioned it, but I would recommend taking her to the doctor. This could be a lingering result of the flu or it could be a sign of something else.
Good luck!

If you have an unhealthy relationship with food you can mentally make yourself nauseous. Like if I take a bite of cake or cookies, something i know is fattening i get a stomach ache. That's because the anxiousness and anxiety you get from knowing eating that was bad and has so many calories and fat, blah blah..So yeah, i think she may have an issue. Telling her how good she looks more often and that she looks better then those models in magazines might help her confidence.

I know what she's going through. I once ate a sandwich from Subway that was toasted and after I started to loose appetite cause it turn my stomach up. Then I started to loose alot less, then loose some pounds. Take her to the doctor or buy some Vitamins that increase appetite, there are those kind of drugs.

It seems like quite a serious problem. It's better to take her to a doctor to check what is really happening to her. Prolonged starvation is very harmful to the body. If she really cannot eat, try to let her drink nutritious drink like MILO or cereal drink.
