No, no, I think we should let the President finish reading My Pet Goat before getting to any Holy Books. He hasn't even read the Bible yet, I doubt that he's ready for the Koran.

First off, I am sure that President Bush does have a copy of the Quran, and has studied up on it's contents as well as having a lot of professional people to inform him on the subject. Secondly, in Jeffersons time the middle east was at best a quaint backwoods adventure safari for the wealthy and the elitists of the best universities. As for the modern day, the middle east has been in the spotlight or at least the side-lights for the better part of the last 50 years, espeacially the spotlight of the U.S. government. Just because it appears that we have underestimated the threat does not mean we actually have. Who the U.S. supports in the middle east one day does not say much of anything to the average American, as it is part of a larger strategy that the government does not nor ever has revealed to it's own citzens. That, by the way, is called a national security strategy, which wouldn't be very secure if you and I knew all the details. Kinda like letting some liberal reporter stand in a war zone filming U.S. troop movements so the enemy can just watch cnn to see what we are up to and plant i.e.d's in the path of those troops. Oh, by the way, I would be willing to bet that President Bush also is currently kept aware of the religious interests of the leaders of Ethiopea and the people in the Darfur region, among hundreds of others around the world.

No, he should not. He could do BUT not because of Jefferson did and not because of he should know about enemy's thing whatsoever. He could IF he wants to and if he does then everybody has their right to read whatever book.

No. We don't all read exactly the same books. Bush's
Holy Bible is a much better read that is on his nightstand.
How about Jefferson Clinton, a Democrat? He had
all that money that wasn't his in his freezer. Why?
I suppose you think that means Bush should have
money in his freezer also?? Such dumb questions are
asked on this site.

This Clown does not know how to read. Perhaps a pictorial Quran might be in order if there is one. On second thought Bush would not know what to do with it. Time has come to send this JOKER to Pasture.

wow
people can be so mean sometimes
does it really matter of what books you own or not
the bible, Qur'an or Torah are not evil
they are all works of God and should be respected
but i mean if you want to call the Qur'an a terrorist book
then you better call the bible one
because how do you explain bush???
think about it people

maybe we can stretch this out to meaning that America should be under Islamic law. Heck we have already stretched out writings of Jeffereson to reinterpret the understandings of the 1st amendment.

Jefferson read it & never converted.
That should tell you something.
Know your enemy is great, but many Islamic Extremists twist the meaning of the words (or use the ones they want and ignore the rest) so reading the words as they were written doesn't help much.
