Not well. I'm all for it, but if you look at how women are treated, especially in the middle east, how would those countries treat her? Many men would be too arrogant to listen to a female leader, thus making international relations much tougher for the U. S. My guess is that only countries that treat women fairly would have any respect at all for a female president or vice president. At this point in time, a female president sounds like a good idea, but many problems arise, making now not a good time, but maybe sometime in the next 15-20 years.. We'll see then....

not nicely. i'm fascinated in it, yet once you look into how females are dealt with, particularly in the middle east, how might those international locations handle her? Many men could be too smug to take heed to a girl chief, subsequently making diplomacy lots harder for the U. S. My guess is that for the time of easy terms international locations that handle females extremely might have any appreciate at fascinated in a girl president or vice chairman. At this factor in time, a girl president sounds like a stable concept, yet many issues upward thrust up, making now not a stable time, yet perhaps sometime in the subsequent 15-2 many years.. we will see then....

Most developed nations would see it as a good thing to have a female US President, which isn't unprecedented in the international community (think Merkel in Germany, Thatcher in Britain, etc). It is neither an indication of weakness, nor political affiliation. Thatcher went to war over the Falklands so quickly that Brazil's collective head swam! She encouraged President Bush (41) to "not go wobbly" in the knees when he was ready to remove Saddam from Kuwait. So to answer your question, with respect to our allies, we probably gain more than we would lose.
Our adversaries are rather different. Women do not enjoy any status in most of the Arab world, and having a woman head of state would be seen as a sign of weakness to radical Islamist terrorists groups like Al Qaeda or governments like that in Iran (not that it matters!).

I think it would be a disaster initially I will explain why, Just look at the last 2 democratic presidents Carter & Clinton the terrorism escalated againts the US because they projected an image of weakness to these thugs.
If we have a woman president like Hillary what would happen is that every thug, despot, dictator and terrorist would get real bold and aggresive to test her and to see if she has any balls and if her response was weak the gloves would be off.

With a yawn. It's nothing new to most countries: England, India, Pakistan, the Philipines and Germany have already had female leaders and probably a lot of others which I can't remember offhand. Yesterday's news to much of the world.

It wouldn't matter so much, it would mean that the US is catching up with many other countries (ie. New Zealand currently has a female Prime Minister and England had one ages ago let alone many other countries).

I think the smug Europeans would think we were catching up with the rest of the world, and the militant Arabs would hate us more. I would welcome a female leader, but I think macho guys would vote for anyone running against her simply for her sex. It's not part of your question but I think the same about a black president. Conservative white america would vote against a black man simply for his race. I read a report that said 60% of Americans would vote for a black candidate, which means 40% absolutely would not. I think that's sick. Sorry for the rant. : )
