Sometimes I find IE is even faster in openning some pages. Usually Firefox is fine.

I find that too , and i installed the fasterfox page loader. It often will say a page is taking too long to load (after a couple of seconds) i find it frustrating and don't use mozilla as much as i used to.

i have it and i don't think so, maybe your computer needs a virus scan or some sort of update.
