Big difference. The case is algebra is the foundation for all higher math. You learn algebra, you can solve geometry better. You WILL use algebra in Geometry, trust me. But the thing is, you won't really KNOW algebra, until you master calculus. You use algebra as an everyday language when trying to learn calculus, so it becomes second nature to you. I strayed off topic, but it's the truth.

Geometry is a lot easier than Algebra 2, but it is about as easy as Algebra 1.

There are differences. Geometry more likely to use models and physical matter-- which why it makes more sense for some people. In the other hand, algebra is almost like another language, interpreting, solving equations and etcetera [and commonly is taken before geometry].
For me, I like algebra much better. But if this is your first time to take any of them, don't be afraid because if you don't understand them at first it's ok. It took me more than two years to understand algebra alone. So, I suggest you to just get started with it and see how you like any of them.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I like algebra and find it very easy (graduate middle school with 100 percent each quarter last year). I don't like geometry, and will probable pass with a percentage from 90.5%-93%. I am in honors, by the way.

Geometry is a bit tougher in my opinion. The thing with geometry is you have to memorize the various formulas associated with the various shapes. This added nuisance is more of a pain than figuring out how to solve for a variable.

I personally found geometry to be a little more difficult than algebra, but on the whole, neither one is very hard. Geometry involves memorizing more formulas, but once you do that, it's pretty stright-forward.

geometry is harder than algebra because it uses the same concepts with longer formulas. but algebra 2 is harder because it uses geometry and algebra, plus new things like lines and logarithms...those suck

To me, no, although both are easy.
Algebra includes working with variables. Geometry, on the other hand, consists of working with figures, the coordinate plane, proofs, etc.

It usually works out like this:

If you really liked Algebra you probably won't like Geometry

If you really liked Geometry you probably won't like Algebra

I struggled with Geometry but loved Algebra. it was vica-verca for my brother.
