The United States has destroyed Iraq and has erased everything they knew as far as politics. Don't get me wrong, because during that time, the US also helped take down a terrible dictator. There are so many anti-war activists out there saying we should pull out, but what happens to Iraq and the people if we pull out now? I'm not trying to start an arguement or flare peoples' tempers, but what should we do? Do we leave them in chaos and let the terrorists take over or do we help them to build themselves up again?

Good question.. what do we do if we withdraw, knowing that it is unstable and has a good chance of leading to a battle between factions.
Also knowing that several times in the past the USA withdrew early and exactly that happened and the USA was looked upon negatively for abandoning those it was trying to help by withdrawing before goverments were solidly established and stabilized.

There is only one course of action, the Impeachment of Bush and Cheney. That is the only course of action that can be taken.
It's a matter of choice for all Americans. Our service members, over 3000 dead now and 22,000 wounded or Iraqis?
I do not watch TV news or read any Conservative bias news print. I get my information from our service members and Iraqis.
Define "terrorist". Sunni are killing Shi"ites. Which side is "terrorist". That is civil war.
Over 450,000 Iraqis have left Iraq, they are in Jordan now, draft them to fight for control of Iraq's oil and power. Iraq has about 311,000 troops, half are rouge, according to Iraq's President.
We should end the occupation of Iraq now and let them kill each other for the oil and power or let them decide to live in peace and share the oil wealth with each other. Our service members hate politics and do not care what is political. They care about staying alive one more day. They also care about coming home to be with those they love.

We should not completely abandon the people of that country since we did go in an rearrange everything. However, we need to slowly start pulling our troops out of there. At the same time, we need to help them strengthen their law enforcement and get their neighbors, like Iran and Saudi, to help them out. The group of people (Hamilton-something or other and includes Condoleza Rice) actually came up with this plan. Now let's see if it actually gets carried out.

Even though it wasn't our (U.S.) 'responsibility' to reform Iraq's system of government and shape it into what we believe to be an ideal (i.e.: democractic) form of, say, censorship... I believe we are in too deep to back out now. It's hard to view the situation from a third point; most thoughts are pro or anti. However, if one gathers information from media in countries' not related to the war, it helps to have a reasonable belief as to what is 'the right thing to do.' In my opinion, we must offer protection to the innocent; for we are the reason they are unprotected. We aren't just fighting for our freedom anymore, we are fighting for others'. Those who are serving our country met the calling of our stronghold, and now we must meet the calling of their support. So, in conclusion...we should honor our government by supporting the basis of it in other countries as well, even if that means more bloodshed for faroff peace.

The only reason you're there is to control the oil. If you leave, you will lose control. The US gov has built permanent bases in Iraq, and has no intention of leaving - and dont bother with the silly statements about improving their lives - the only thing the US cares about is the oil

I haven't heard much about afganistan, what did we do there. how about those people, maybe iraq would be able to take care of itself, if we pull out someones going to loose alot of money, where do you think these billions are going. they tell us we need to stay, but I still haven't heard the real reason we are there. the government needs to stop lying and just get our kids out of there.

I think it's a wonderful idea to date someone who works at Home Depot. Especially if they get a 15% discount. That could come in handy!!

My Suggestion is to let an all Arab peace keeping force take over...let them deal with the mess, surely they would be more trusted.
