Well, I would try to get it out, it does have a string, right?
If I couldn't get it out, I would see a nurse at school or at a free clinic.
Good luck with that.

Okay. This answer is assuming you've taken the tampon out already. I'm not sure how you had sex with a tampon in without noticing, but I will say that if you are having no symptoms, you probably don't have an infection. I'm not a doctor, so I can't diagnose you, but I can say that if it were me, I wouldn't go unless I started noticing symptoms. The big thing you have to worry about when you leave a tampon in for too long is Toxic Shock Syndrome, but symptoms of it are pretty severe--fever, vomiting, etc. If you're having no pain, no weird discharge, and none of the above symptoms, I think you're probably okay but try to be more aware next time. Also, I hope this doesn't sound too lame or maternal--but if your mom doesn't know you're having sex, I do hope you are using protection. Okay? :) Good luck.
p.s..If you haven't taken the tampon out already, please go to a doctor--but don't worry, you'll be okay.

There's no reason to see a doctor and no reason to be concerned UNLESS you start showing signs of vaginal infection (unusually foul-smelling or colored discharge or pain) The biggest concern would be toxic shock syndrome, although you probably already would have begun showing signs of this if you had it (as the onset is very rapid). Look for fever (usually very high) accompanied by a rash. It can also make the palms of your hands peel. TSS is a very serious, even fatal, systemic infection BUT since the big TSS scare several years ago, tampon manufacturers have changed the material they use (the problem seemed to come from one of the ultra-high absorbency materials used). Since then, the number of cases of TSS associated with tampon use is is very, very, very, small.

Your lucky you remembered! I knew someone who did this & only found out she had left one in (she didnt know how long for & had had sex many times). She found out because she got an infection & had bad discharge & got it checked out.
It should be ok - an infection is possible but I would personally wait & see if you have any infection symptoms (bad smells, discharge, pain - anything that isnt the norm) then get it sorted.
If you want to tell your mom then you can leave the sex part out - all sex will have done is push it further up there.
Go to the doctors if you are worried at all. Remember that if you go to the docs with your mom then the doc may ask if you are sexually active so be prepared to answer that.

If you're worried about Toxic Shock Syndrome, don't be. It happened in the late 70's, early 80's regarding only one brand of tampons (Rely) because of the material they were made from.
If you worried you're pregnant, don't be. If you had sex while menstruating there isn't a chance of pregnancy.
If you're worried you've got a STD, you should be. Sex without protection will make that happen.
The obvious question that needs asking is: HOW did you have sex? Specifically, which part of your body. Because there is no way you can keep a tampon in for 4 days and not know; odor alone would let you know. And there is no way you can have sex, with a tampon in the vaginal canal, and still not remember it's there....unless your reproductive system is the size of a large mammal.
I hoped I've answered any real concerns, and maybe next time you can pose a more credible question.

Okay sweetheart yes you do have to go to the doc. Especially since you've had sex it's probably pretty jammed in there. Unless by some chance you can reach it and pull it out. If you don't have an infection now you'll probably get one if you just leave it. Tell your mom the situation and no you don't have to tell her you've had sex unless you want to. But I would mention it to the doctor. And they will keep it confidential. Please make sure you're practicing safe sex though, cuz you don't wanna have to tell her you've got an std or are pregnant.

dude. just keep a watch. If you get itchy, or redness, or bleeding then take action. otherwise, you're probably okay. read the little paper about TSS in the tampon box, check for symptoms. give it a few days. you're probably okay.
if something is wrong then tell your mom that you have an infection or something down there and you need to see a doc. You could probably leave out the bit about leaving the tampon in. unless she presses you for more. girls get yeast infections all the time, so she should be understanding and will probably respect your privacy. tell her you only want to talk to the doctor about it cause you feel embarrassed or something. don't have sex for a while either

Tell your mom what you did and ask to see a doctor. If you're not comfortable telling her you're sexually active, at least tell the doctor. You're probably fine, but let the doctor run the necessary tests to reassure you.
In the meantime, pull that paper out of the trash -- the one that came with the tampons. Read it! It will provide a great many answers to your questions (although it won't answer the question of infection) and it will tell you things you might not have thought to ask.

i say you should wait until you have any symptoms. If you left a tampon inside of you and got a infection you would know about. Bacteria infections are noticeable so you would know, so if you have weird stuff going on down south just tell your mom to take you to the Doctor AND LEAVE THE SEX PART OUT!Now about that sex thing, he better Have use a condom because if you do have a infection he probably got it.

Go to the doctor, to make sure you don't have an infection. And tell your mom just in case something was to happen to you and she needs to know that you are having sex, because she will find out sooner or later. Wouldn't you rather her find out threw you telling her than finding out another way like something happening to you. Its something to think about.

DO u feel SIck or anything?Leaving it in that long can lead to problems. The longest you are supposed to keep a tampon in your body is 4 eight hours.IT could increase the risk of toxic syndrome or infection. If you are feeling OK I wouldn't worry to much about it.Meaning no fever, chills,or any problems down below.I would if I was you tell my mom just cuz....Hope everything alright!!!
