Soft drinks, maybe they are gassy for me??

Carbonated drinks can create a little CO2 in the digestive track, but really is not a significant contributor to gas production. Majority of gas is created by bacteria in the large intestine as they breakdown complex carbohyrates that you ate, especially dietary fiber... compounds with sulfur can make the smell worse, like -- beans, dried apricots, eggs, etc. However, such diets are often much healthier for your digestive tract and provide greater nutrition.

So, you can make dietary changes (cutting out foods that cause it), use medication that causes the gas to pass more readily (therefore reducing noise) such as Gas-X, or take enzymes such as Beano with your meal that breaks down the complex carbohydrates in the small intestine, therefore reducing bacterial activity in the large intestine.

Sounds like you are rotten. Soft drinks are gassy. Also what you eat will cause LOTS of gas. You can buy over the counter items to help the gas such as Gas X.

IF you prefer to have the gas and want to smell even more rotten, drink beer and eat boiled eggs. Where ever you are the next day......you will be by yourself!!! Good luck. Pops

Could be soft drinks, could be any one of a number of things. Try cutting soft drinks out of your diet for a few days and see if anything changes. Pay attention to what you're eating to find out what your triggers are -- do you fart more after you eat certain meals?

Maybe you are reacting to milk products (cheese, creamy sauces/soups, milk, etc.), in which case you could be lactose intolerant; if that's the case, you can try taking Lactaid with those meals. Maybe you are reacting to beans, or cruciferous veggies like cabbage/cauliflower/broccoli; if that's the case, you can try taking Beano with those meals. Maybe you are reacting to raisins or other dried fruits (my mother reacts to those), or to pears (which I love, but I can't eat unless I want to walk around holding a DANGER--KEEP AWAY sign the rest of the day!); if you find a way to counteract those, let me know!!

Banana's can do this, same as broccoli. If you are taking glucosamine and condroitin and they contain sulfate, that will do it. Sugar is poison to your body. If you drink water with a little lemon in it your system will be cleaned out. You may have developed allergies due to stress to wheat and or dairy. Try to omit one item for a week at a time to see if it makes a difference. As usual, try to avoid fried foods and meat. Good Luck, this should pass, pun intended! Sandy

Stay away from spicy or fried food. Beans also out of the question. Boil mint leaves and fennel and drink it, it is a proven home remedy.
