There could be a great type of rotations that would affect seasons and day nights and climates. There could be a rotation based on the donut center, there could be a rotation around one axis of the donut. The rotation could be combined so that the donut would rotate around it center, on a horizontal axis and a vertical axis. The donut should not be very large otherwise it would collapse into a sphere. because the donut planet would be small it would not retain an atmosphere. It would be either very cold or very hot depending on its distance from the sun. A planet shaped as a donut could exist only if created by impact. However a gigantic donut could also exist. It would form as an accretion disk around the sun. So the 'donut' hole would not be empty, There would be a sun in the middle. The planet might be more disk like than donut like the force of gravity due to rotation would be at the edge facing the sun. Depending on the mass, the force of gravity could also be on both faces of the disk and on one edge. Retaining an atmosphere would be possible. This planet would be as large as an orbit of a normal spherical planet. A very advanced technological society could terraform such planets to get a big space to live. So it would be an artificial planet. Such planet has been imagined in a science fiction novel. Also a planet that completely surrounds it star to use it energy has been imagined in a science fiction book.

If you mean like a donut it may pose some interesting speculation.
If the same mass as the earth the gravitational field would be concentrated around the outside ring.
The atmosphere would probably encompass the whole ring with the highest pressure at the ring surface.
A satellite could orbit the outside of the ring but not the inside
I think I will bail out here maybe I will think about it later!

I would feel very disorientated. Can't really go into specifics here, never seen a world shaped like a ring, but it would be VERY different, certain crops would not get enough sunlight, gravity might be weaker, and some areas would almost always never see the light of the sun.

All 4 sides of the map would connect, and life and climate on the inside and outside would depend on the orientation of the sun with respect to the earth.

This sounds like Poincare's Conjecture. Read Perelman.

Well, come to think of it it would be like the rign of Saturn...but much smaller. It would be difficult to reach someone who is ont the other side of the world...also if you are flying since you ca't just go straight. Nice question though...

Just like it is now. The "rich" would be at the top and the rest would run around in circles.
