On my laptop at least it almost is. The memory compartment unscrews and the sticks are flat against the board. They have to be pulled out into an angle then they can be removed and replaced.

Yes, but keep in mind that a laptop requires a SODIMM, which is smaller than a stick of ram from a desktop. If the RAM is the right speed it will work, you may get a message on the first boot saying that RAM count has changed, just continue.

Do you mean a flash drive or RAM
A flash drive, juts plug it in.
RAM -- it is easy to install, though in some models it is not always easy to get to. Often it in on the underneath of the computer and you just have to remove some screws. On other computers you have to remove the keyboard or some other componants to get to the memory.

It doesn't really depend on computer type...wheather laptop or PC.
Important would be OS you have. XP doesn't need any installation of driver....while earlier OS required USB driver (assuming ur memory stick is USB connectable).

Can I suggest first of all that you take your machine online to www.crucial.com for a free rundown of your particular setup and recommendations about RAM?
Then when you've got your RAM, it's the hatch underneath the machine - plug in just like always.
(I presume you're talking about RAM and not a flash drive, which just plugs in as always).

From experience I would have to say yes for sure. Fear not cast down all doubt and unbelief. Grab a screw driver and go to town.
