I'm from New Jersey and pronounce it ant like the bug. I live in South Carolina now and most people here pronounce it the same way.

East Texas, about 100 miles from the border, and just like the word for the bug: ant. I'm from central Iowa, though, and that may make a difference. My husband is from north central Arkansas and he says it the same way.

I grew up in Texas and it's ant... I lived in Maine for a few years... and there it's aunt... Now I'm back in Texas and... I guess it depends who I'm talking to!
