british gas and oil? scotish gas and oil yes, what i mean is why should scotland live under english government and their queen when as a country that is independent we would be wealthier, lower tax, us as united kingdom have the highest tax in the world which is outrageous,so if we were to become independent, england would need our oil gas water farming itmakes sense to assume that england needs us but doesnt appreciate it

Look, you tool. If it wasn't for British money, Scotland would be still in the dark ages. British oil is found mostly more than 100 miles out from Scotland's East coast. if it wasn't for British money, oil would not have even been looked for in the North Sea, let alone found. You'd still be all farming sheep and haggis.

I'm Welsh, and hate being called British, and if there was an ounce of truth in what you said, i would agree. However, I'm not too dumb not to be realistic and know the truth.

Only if the resources are used properly. Just having the resources is not enough. It will need a better management for Scotland than for multi-nationals.

I've got no problem with Scotland being independant. Just don't come running if war breaks out in europe again.

Oh my, but will it ever happen in our lifetimes...prolly not. A United Kingdom does have its strengths. If someone would like to elaborate on that, I would like to listen!
