You don't. You either have a spouse or partner make the money or you work part-time.

Right now I'm a full-time mom but a part-time employee. It makes a few extra bucks, and it gets me out of the house.

Opening a daycare or babysitting for friends sounds great until you realize that to have a LEGAL daycare you have to have a license. If you babysit more than 2 kids, you have to have a license.

Even though one is/are raising a kid(s) she/he can still have an income if she/he is creative and industrious. One way is by using a phone and calling friends, government organizations or other agencies that she/he is capable of tutoring someone, or doing some office work like typing term papers, etc...She/He can make or cook delicious foods, cookies, cakes, etc. and avail them for sale either through phone calls, information through e-mail of her work, etc. She/he can wash clothes or if she/he knows embroidery or sewing she can accept clients...etc. There are many other possibilities if she/he is wise in her/his outlook in life's journey.
