The doc said to ice it, but ice seems to bring on a spazz & cramp. Is that supposed to happen? Trying not to go crazy with ibuprophen because it aggravates the reflux. Experience only please, no copy/paste and ABSOLUTELY no Wiki

Had one on back of my rt. knee........If ibuprofen is not helping try naporsin (Aleve) ..Mine finally resolved itself......Less pain got used to it , but there are micro-surgeries that orthopedic docs use now that are less invasive and really lessen the recovery time....Rest does work , with mild exercise.........

I have a Baker's Cyst.
I had to ice on 10- 20 minutes and 20 off.
I had to stay off my feet for almost 6 months and lose 20 lbs before the doctor would do anything.

it seems like doctors do a 6 month wait and see.
I still have the cyst, but with ice, physical therapy, rest, and some Orthovisc injections, I have found relief.

Try the ibprofin with food or Milk. It really helps.
other than narcotics, which dull the pain, they don't help reduce the swelling.

Your goal would be to rest that knee
Ice it, let your doctor know about your reactions.
*everyone reacts differently to icing.
rule of thumb.......if it hurts, or makes it worse, don't do it!

Once your knee swelling is down,
I would go to physical therapy to get the supporting muscles as strong as possible.

I've been dealing with this situation since nov 2000.
