The speed is not constant because of the elliptical nature of the orbit and eccentricity. The closer the earth is to the sun, the slower it flies through space. The further away, the faster it goes. This physical law is called the Conservation of Angular Momentum.
You can calculate an average speed, or figure out the speed based on the distance from the sun (r).

The orbit is an ellipse so the Earth speeds up and slows down throughout the year (Thank you Kepler). Using Euclidean assumptions, ignoring the sun's diameter and assuming a fixed radius of one A.U. (Astronomical Unit is the distance from the Earth to the sun.) I get:
pi * 2 * 93,000,000 / (365.25 * 24) = 66659.mph

The Earth orbits, on average, 93 million miles (149,600,000 km) from the Sun. This distance is defined as one Astronomical Unit (AU). The Earth revolves around the Sun at a speed of about 18.5 miles/sec (30 km/sec).

assuming that the earth's orbital path around the sun is a perfect circle, which it is not. the total distance traveled in that circle is equal to C=(pi)(r)(2). so the whole equation would look like this. 93,000,000 x 2 = 186,000,000 (diameter) . 186,000,000 x 3.14. to get 584,040,000 (circumference), divide that by 365 to get 1,600,109.59 (rounded) miles/day, divide that by 24 to get 66671.23 (rounded) miles/hour

Average speed = 365.26 solar days; 29.8 kilometers/second; 18.52 miles/second; 66,674.95 miles/hour (which is 3.8 times faster than the Space Shuttle's top speed).
