How do you break an addiction? How do you change your personality? How do you change what are you? I want to stop cussing, i want to figure who i am, i want to stop watching corn with a p. i want to be able to open up to people. It's so hard for me to open up to people and be real. I want to be able to say exactly what is on my mind and to be to state directly how i feel. I want to be a better person. I know the first step is acknowledging your problem, but how do you fix it? How do you open up to people? I can't. I feel like crying in front of people makes me weak, pathetic, and somewhat selfish. I feel vulnerable. I feel like i can not please everyone at once. Yes, people do say i cry and get mad over trivial things, but why does that make me wrong? In addition, i feel like i'm only changing for other people. Even when i do change people think i'm the same old witchy with a b person. I can't be perfect no matter how hard i try. any advice, tips, comments, etc.

keep a diary and for a week see how many times you write a curse word ! Every curse word you say you have to change it to make it sound nice!

It will be hard for you because you are so use to it! But I know you can do it! But hey you got your self to a good start on saying your problem and u want to change it bravo!

Calm down for starters!
Just try to chill out a bit and not take life so serious! If you really want to change things about yourself, you just do it! You just make up your mind that you really don't like the way you have been or have acted and you take responsibility for your behavior and quit acting out! There's no magic solution, life is what you make it, only you control you and you make the choice every moment of everyday about how you act or respond.

a therapist? and I'm not being a b*tch, i am sincere. sounds like some kind of counseling would really let you vent and work on some of the issues that are troubling you. sometimes people need to just step back and say "hey, this is enough! I'm not happy and I want to be....... I have a right to be!"
good for you for admitting you want to change, now get out there and do it!

One way to start might be to begin to give more of yourself in helping others. Do some volunteer work through your church, or another neighborhood group.

If you have any chemical addictions, seek out a group to help you with that, and then help others in return. You'll be surprised, "What goes around, comes around" works for bringing good things into your life also.

your on the right path because your questioning. Continue to question and think about, and start to come up with answers that seem reasonable to you.. Cuz in the end the only thing that matters is that you believe it. We can tell you answers but the only reason they work is because youre gonna believe these answers will make you healthy. You can come up with healthy answers yourself.

Galieo Galilei once said: "You can not teach a man anything. You can only help him discover it in himself."

So go and discover it in yourself, and believe that what you discover will make you a healthier person.

Hope that helps

Why do you feel bad about yourself? You have as much of a right to be here and be heard as anyone else.

The problem is something you mentioned in your post-trying to please everyone. First of all, it's impossible-you'll never do it. secondly, you should worry about making yourself happy.

No one wants perfection from you....be your own best friend and start seeing the positive.
