The beeps are error codes. Check with your motherboard manufacturer to find the beep codes. On mine, two short beeps means the RAM memory is bad. Sometimes the memory can be re-seated and start working again.

Probably the RAM. As the computer checks the RAM when it's turned on, this would probably cause this. You can run a computer without a hard drive (well, you could, way back when in the days of DOS), but you can't run a computer without RAM.

The computer is having a problem and is trying to inform you of something. It is probably trying to do so without causing damage to itself by starting up or it is having problems starting up.
there are two parts of the beep code Long beeps and short beeps. You have to sit and listen to them to determine how many of each and in what sequence they are.
Check here for a general description

Last of all, check your computer manufacturer website, or if you computer is custom built then go to the manufacturer of the motherboard website to decipher what your machine is trying to tell you.

something could be loose, when computer is on for long periods of time it heats up, heat expands, when the computer cools off then it shrinks, so it's like stuff inside your computer is wiggling on it's on, not to mention dust that prevents contact between electrical contacts, IF and only IF you know how to wonder around inside the PC tower then clean it out or re-tighten the cables and memory chips if you don't then give it to your local neighborhood geek and have him do it for you, buy him a pizza at least don't be cheap!!!.

I assume you are talking about beep codes. These usually mean a pending or already happened hardware failure.
Here is a site that should get you started in the right direction:

you may desire to be attentive to what motherboard you have. One beep oftentimes shows RAM failure. attempt to unplug and plug the RAMs back. whilst the video reveal or video card fail oftentimes you would be wanting better than one beeps. whilst CPU fails there is not any beep in any respect... especially confident which you have defective RAMs (this is oftentimes one long beep). For good meaning of the beep seek for suggestion out of your mom board instruction manual or producer. wish this enables P.S do not this in case you're unsure what i'm talking approximately. i'm not in charge for effects. you may screw your motherboard or video card, or processor. in spite of... take it to a professional in case you're doubtful approximately the thank you to try this. i think of your hardware is under guarantee. thank you
