I don't care that people die in wars. I don't care about famines. I don't *emtionally* care about the fate of anyone who I don't know personally - and even then I mostly feel uncomfortable about how it will effect me and what I should do and how I should respond and not about the other persons suffering.

And then totally randomly some day I will totally get into other peoples pain, except I think I might romanticise it a bit when I do that.

But in my whole life I don't think I have ever felt angry at injustice except when it was totally person for insance.

No. You're only being honest. To thine own self be true and then consider the problems of the world and what you may be able to do about them. We have plenty of pretentious do-gooders. Be what you are.

You seem to have a pessimistic attitude. Of course that can be helpful because there are so many things in this world to feel sad about that it can overwhelm you. This may have come from the attitude of your caregivers while you were growing up. You don't say your age, but I've been told by a psychologist that people in their teens are "egocentric". That means that they consider themselves #1 above everything else. There is nothing abnormal about it, in fact it's natural at that age. If you are concerned I would talk to a psychologist. They are well-trained and might be able to explain the whole thing so that you don't feel "wierd."

I guess if you spent all your time feeling sorry for all the bad things that are happening in this world you would be sad all the time. Maybe it's not that you don't care it's just that if you really sat down and thought about all that stuff you would cry and be sad all the time so to keep from doing that you just take the "i don't care" attitude. I think because you asked this question you do care but you have to keep it in the back of your mind so you won't dwell on it.

No. I don't think there is something wrong.

In fact, the fact that you are analyzing and examining you're feelings like this just simply means that you are very human.

Unlike the many people who cry at all the right times, and often that is only crocodile tears!

Oh, it's a great show! Ya really can't tell. But have you ever felt that people around you may not be as genuine as they let on?

That can be the start of awakening. You're own personal awakening.

If you are a teenager, we seem to go through our teens thinking only about ourselves. If you are 25 or older, this is not good. One would say you have a cold heart or you are desensitized to everything around you. Above you said, "how it will effect me."

You need to practice doing something for other people. You are quite self centered and again not a good trait. You could be a lonely, self centered, bitter, unloving old person one of these days. To me this is a horrible thought. I know someone who can change that cold heart overnight. He has put love in hearts that were made of stone and melted the heart to liquid kindness. His name is Jesus Christ.

I'm guessing that your own pain is very great.

When and if you deal with that, since you are kind and can understand other peoples pain, then you take on some of theirs.

It just doesn't leave much room for worry about wars and stuff.

IT is a case of low consciousness. When one becomes more on the spiritual platform they develop compassion, and empathy for others. In one sense their is no need to lament about people dieing because We never die only the body dies. We are eternal spirit souls, Part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We need to reconnect to develop compassion and all good qualities. The quickest way to reconnect and purify our heart and mind and develop all good qualities is to Chant the Maha Mantra. (the great Mantra for deliverance from suffering and illusion) go to krishnaculture. for details and read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. Which tells one the purpose of human life and how to develop good qualities and what is the Soul etc.
