Every step you go down a hill is putting 5 x's your own body wieght on your knee cap, which is about 3x3x2 inches.
That's a lot of wieght.

bike riding is the best exercise for your knees.

Walking up hill is okay, *as long as you don't have to go down back down them.
Climbing up stairs is safe, climbing down puts that 5x's your body wieght traveling thru your tiny knee cap.

Most people who have knee problems have them by the time they are 19 years old.

Well if you are talking about age ha ha ha If you have pain in the knees and I do and this comes with age and it stinks too. If it hurts, why and is it being treated??

For one thing it really hurts and your bones can get weak.
