how do u install a guitar strap with a tie on the top of the strap?

You pass one side of the tie under the strings, just past the nut at the top of the neck, but before the first tuning machine and run the other side behind the peg head and tie it like anything else ... with a good, secure knot

I just tie mine like a shoelace at the neck just above the last fret.
