is the marriage doomed?
True story...happened at my wedding.

Since many successful weddings are conducted where no priest or bible is present, I would say that your marriage has at least an average chance of success. I would have worried more if the groom never showed and you had to marry the best man or something. It's only a book after all.

First, what kind of Priest was he.. If he is a Catholic Priest, in most diocese a Wedding must be in a Church, AND there is no way he could forget his Bible, or the Missal that sits there near the Altar.. but if it is from another denomination, I do not know, but I suppose that if this Priest knew all Marriage Prayers by heart and prayed them over the two of you and blessed your marriage and if the two of you said your vows and they were witnessed by your family and friends there should be no problems.. but do check with your church if there is anything else you need to do and also to tranquil your mind and heart. if you are that superstitious, you have no business getting married to begin with. Nothing can jinx a marriage, it's either something you both make work, or don't.
