I have a Linksys-G Wireless router and I would like to set it so it blocks PSP using software to access the internet. I would like to set this restriction to the computers that are connected to the router and also to the computer on wireless connection.

Thanks all help are appreciated.

How would I be able to use a firewall to block P2P? I thought firewall only restrict things on your computer and not others? Correct me if I'm wrong.

One, PSP stands for Play Station Portable. P2P is Peer to Peer, or in the MMORPG world, Pay to Play.

I can block Domains or block URL's using keywords on my router and that would stop it, but actually not allowing a certain program to access the internet no. You can stop this by setting your firewall to not allow any programs to access the internet without permission.

The firewall on your router can be used to close ports to the internet and not allow the P2P software access. Most P2P software uses TCP Port 80.

Just block the port number on the router. Tell the router to drop any packets using peer to peer port number

Linksys has a toll free 24H 7D English speaking smart-people tech support number. They will do this for you. All you need to do is call them.
