No. Cardio exercises improve the oxygen efficiency in the lungs. The more you exercise, the healthier they become.

Don't smoke or inhale toxic chemicals such as asbestos which can damage your lungs. Then you'll have healthy lungs throughout your life.

There are two herbs you can use. One is Wild Cherry Bark, it will dry the lungs. Take the wild cherry bark as a tea. take 2 tablespoons of the bark in 4 cups of water. Heat the water until it is almost boiling. Put the bark in and let it set for 10 minutes. Strain the bark out and drink the tea. It will be a little bitter, so add some non-processed honey ( still has honey comb in it) this will add some anti bacterial qualities. Drink two cups in morning, then again in afternoon. Don't drink it at night as some folks report having minor sleep issues . Osha Root ( Ligusticum Porteri) Take two full osha roots and wash them thoroughly under running water, pat them dry. Grate them like you would a carrot. Then place it into a medium sized stainless steel pot and cover them one half inch above the root grating with 3/4 blackstrap molasses, and 1/4 brandy. Cover the pan, put it over a LOW heat for an hour, checking constantly to prevent burning. When it is mostly cooled, strain through a muslim cloth bag and squeeze to get all the liquid. Then store in a pint fruit jar. This tincture is ideal for viral infections, especially a sore throat. It is also quite effective with allergies, asthma, bronchitus, and indigestion. take one tablespoon on an empty stomach every few hours.
