No it isn't, and until this day is a issue we talk about, the mix of races, at that time it broke the tabu and put it on the table

Othello was a revolutionary epic and in advance of its time in that it presented the possibility of interracial love relationships. If it was melo in that it lacked body count, so be it. Melo is not a diminutive nor a synonym for 'comedy'.
