I was wondering if it was normal for me to be attracted to guys who can be rough and mean if they wanted to and who are possessive and protective?
If never dated anyone really since i'm still in high school and not out, but lately i've been really attracted to the thought of a really masculine man like this.
The reason i'm asking is cuz i've asked questions about this type of attraction before and ppl have on here (yahoo answers) have kind of said that is weird like i need a father figure or something.
But I don't want an old man like my dad just someone older. what do u guys think?

I don't think you want someone mean, I just think you want to KNOW when your being HELD. You want to feel secure and forgive me for saying this, but you want to play the "female role." The I'll take care of you, you stay behind me, Jane! And there's nothing wrong with that, in fact, its wonderful that you know this. Just remember that because a man is big and mean looking doesn't mean he can't be kind and caring, too!

I am also attracted to guys that can be rough and mean and are possessive and protective. Its hot. I think it is just an attraction. I have a father figure thank you very much, and my attraction to that type of guy has nothing to do with him, so don't worry about that. I think it is just a personal preference. People are attracted to almost anything, in the scheme of things, I don't think this is weird or cause for concern.

I think that you are looking for someone who can take care of you, make all the decisions, take all the heat, etc. Then you don't really have to take control or be responsible. If you are looking for someone rough as in "physically rough" with you that is not normal, at least not that I know of. Once you come out and can find other gay people to talk about you will find that others may have a better answer. Good luck. And your parents will love you anyways and probably already suspect. Being honest here is at least a start in coming out.

Its perfectly normal, you just like Dominant men. You like guys that real man's man type of guys, and that is just fine. It would be a pretty dull world if we all liked the same thing or were all a like.
Because you're still in high school most of the gay guys you probably know are just the opposite, which is fine for them too, so you might feel like its weird. But the kind of guys you like are there too, they just aren't as obvious to you, or perhaps are still in the closet.

Well I guess it could be normal. Attraction is a weird thing though. Generally, it depends on sexuality, but teenhood can have a weird effect on it. Basically, you can prefer one or both sexes during this time. It happens. Generally, after you get older, or as you get older, you tend to lean towards one rather than the other.

Go for it. You should go for anybody you want, female or male. I dont think that you need a father figure or anything for any of this. I think its completely normal to be feeling what you're feeling. Since you're still in puberty, your hormones are racing and you might be confused. You could grow out of this, or you could not. Its all a matter of time. You shouldnt care if others think that its weird or not, just go for who you want. Lots of luck!! <33

You are not weird at all. You have your own ideas and preferences and they are valid no matter what anyone thinks. Girls are all attracted to the "bad" guys and guys are all attracted to the "bad" girls. Bad is relative to good or hot or anything depending upon the defination of those currently using the word.
Soooo - go get you a bad boy college jock and warp his midwest mind.

Ok! Finally, something I can relate to! I feel the same way! My friends think that I am wierd, but I can't help it! I just want to be with a guy like that! They are just so hot to me! LOL! Its like an atraction to bad boys, just the idea of being with them makes me feel better. But maybe its just me, because I feel like I need to be protected... But no, its not wierd, its normal! I know a couple more guys that like the same thing!!!

I think that you are perfectly normal -- and that you should pursue the type of men YOU are attracted to for YOUR relationship --- not some sort of consensus figure that represents what OTHERS think you should have for YOUR relationship.
