I thought u.s made up of 85% catholic/christian

I don't think there realy are. I think you just notice the jewish politicians more than you notice the christian ones. When a politician calls themself a christian it just passes you by without you giving it much thought, but when they mention they're jewish you notice it, because it's out of the ordinary.

It's just like in my home city, people I know are always saying there are a lot of asian living here. I looked in the census, and the city's population is only 10% asian. The asians just stand out.

One reason could be that many voters don't care what religion the politician they elect participates in.
Voters listen to what the politician promises them and if the politician doesn't fulfill that they aren't re-elected.

Maybe it's because they have been the most logical candidates. Not everyone is an anti-semite like you.
