Hi,

I recently bought my friend gamecube and she was looking for Zelda.

I don't know much about video games but she mentioned an older versian of zelda. she is 23 so most likely one of the first zelda games.

which title is the one Im looking for, there are a few and I don't know which one to get.

It has to be for gamecube.

Thanks
Drea

I understand that the most recently advertised game will be better. But she was looking for one of the oldest games, we're not very good at newer games lol

Thanks

this game has the first two games, for original nintendo, and then the magnificent

a remade of the super nintendo game, with four links this time, playable by 1-4 people. game is changed just a little, but is probably the game your friend remembers (the gameboy version of fourswords can be toggled to the original title "Zelda: A Link to the Past" - which could be played on the gamecube through the gameboy player attachment - a $40 item, but allows your gamecube to play the thousands of gameboy games out there)

zelda: windwaker may be a newer game, and link might look ... cartoony, which is why i didn't want to try it. one day i broke down and got it. it's easily the second best zelda i've played, right after link to past, without counting twilight princess (i never plan on unsealing mine) - highly recommended. if only sailing was such a pain in the *** though

There are several Zelda games that the Gamecube can play.

Twilight Princess is the newest.
The Wind Waker is next in age.
Collector's Edition and Master Quest both came out at about the same time.

I'd recommend Collector's Edition as it has 4 older Zelda games (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, The Legend of Zelda (original), and The Adventure of Link.

the zelda collectors edition is $50 it has the first, second, Ocarina of time and majora's mask on it. you can get it at EBgames, gamespot, or barnes and noble online, Wind waker was the only game ever released solely for GC it's about $20 anywhere, they do have a Ocarina of Time Master Quest where it is 2 versions of the same game (master quest's dungons are set up different though) and it's about $35-$40 at the previous mentioned stores that was the first one released on N64. Those are all the older games for Zelda on game cube.

Of all these titles you listed, only Windwaker was originally created for the gamecube. The rest are merely ports and/or the lesser version of the true game (twilight princess was made primarily for the Wii). Be that as it may, all were great games in their time but in gamecube terms, Windwaker would be your best bet. Great story, gameplay and fresh animated graphics are bound to give you a great time. 8/10.

Get Twilight Princess. It's out for the Wii, but should come out for the Gamecube in a few months.
