Simon Bolivar and he was born in Caracas (Capital of Venezuela) in july 24, 1783 and died in Santa Marta, Colombia, in december 17 of 1830. Both days are "celebrated" in venezuela by the army, but its not like people buy fireworks or anything like that.

Simón Bolívar. Called the "Libertador" (Liberator), he liberated the Spanish colonies of Nueva Granada (now Ecuador, Columbia, Venezuela), Peru and Bolivia (of course named after him).
