E-mail attachments are a great way to get trojans.
First thing, download and install all windows updates. Some of the vulnerabilities may be fixed. Maybe.
Next, update Norton and do a full system scan and follow it's recommendations for removal.
If your still a little worried, and with Norton I would be, go to BitDefender for a free online virus scan and cleaning. TrendMicro now charges for cleaning.
Norton isn't the best, they just spend more money advertising. Try Nod32. It's rated number one for a reason. Kaspersky is also a great choice though pricey.
While you're at it, add Lavasofts's Ad-Aware, Safer Networking's SpyBot Search & Destroy and AVG's anti spyware to your arsenal. Keep'em all updated and scan weekly if you surf a lot, or monthly if your an occasional surfer.
Also, if you don't have a firewall, GET ONE. Zonelabs offers a free version of Zone Alarm.
Sounds like a lot, but you can't be to careful. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean somebody's not out to get you. In todays net environment somebody is out to get us, believe it.
Good luck.

.bat are batch files. The Trojan Horse came in behind the song you downloaded. Why does anyone anyone make and dispatch Trojans or Trojan Horses is a question; because they must be sadists who get pleasure from wrecking others comps.

You should be worried because a Trojan Horse contains a lot of Trojans who can come out and wreck your comp.

You can delete this using the regedit function.

Please go to Start and click on it. Now, go to "Run" and click on it. In the dialog box that appears, please type in "regedit" and hit Enter. In the panel that appears please click on "Edit". In the drop down menu that appears, click on "Find". In the dialog box that appears, type in the name of the virus that you got from the alert and click on "Find next". In the panel to your right the infected folders and files will show up. Select them by left clicking on them and delete them by right clicking and clicking on the delete option. Continue doing this sequence till you've totally deleted all traces of the Trojan. Reboot the computer for extra precaution. All should be fine.

Before starting this sequence, it would be good for you to disable "System Restore" so that it doesn't save a copy of the Trojan and enable it after the procedure is done.

All the best.

Cheers!!!!

there are a number of Trojan horse viruses. Each one has a different removal method. Basically each one creates some files on the hard disk and keys in the registry, therefore you need to search using the exact name of the virus and read the manual removal instruction. The removal consists of the following steps, disabling system restore, booting in safe mode, running virus scan etc

You are lucky, Norton picked them up!

Just make sure your virus definitions are up to date (I am paranoid so I check for updates on a daily basis) Be careful when downloading files, ALWAYS run a virus check on them before opening. I've also got my PC set to do a full system scan during my lunch hour. ie update definitions in the morning (automatically) and the computer scans for viruses when you are at lunch. I have not had a single virus problem!

You should stop using Symantec Norton Antivirus... better, you should use other AV.

Try using:

AVG Free Antivirus
Avira Antivirus

Try them.. they are better than Norton.

And... don't worry... they are now on quarantine.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:
