It's called ignorance.
I have noticed there are a few people who will ask questions, if they don't get the answer they want, get upset and add belligerent details. Some of these people don't necessarily always fit in the racist category. But I agree with you MOST do.

Because most racists think they "know" they are right and don't really want your opinion unless it is the same as theirs. They're just trying to force their beliefs on you.
