Handbags are a great sell...but you need to search for authentic and cheap. If you have a coach, or Dooney and Bourke outlet store near you...you can make a killing. You can make money selling handbags that are not so high end...such as Guess, Baby Phat, Roca Wear. The urban clothing lines sell great because lots of people don't have access to them or realize how cheap they are if you just go to the department store...and you can find their things on clearance.
Childrens clothing is great also...if you get a lot of items...very cheaply...and sell them as a lot...you can make a good amount of money a lot faster than if you sell them individually. Babies R Us was having a great sale Sunday...I don't know if it is still on.
If you have any gift certificates...people will buy them for almost as much as they are worth, (I am not sure why.)
Coupons sell...especially, Victoria's Secret, Baby Formula, free gift coupons, and "money off" coupons.
The best thing to do is spend hours looking at listings and determine what will sell...don't buy anything that you are not sure you can atleast make your money back on. If you are shopping and find things you think are really cheap and may sell....only get it if you have another use for it, or can return it. A lot of times, if you can get it cheap...everyone else can too and evryone lists them...minimizing the profit you can make. Sometimes I will hold on to an item like this until everyone sell theirs so that when I list it...I have one of the only listings for that particular item.
You also need to pay attention to when your listing will be ending. If you have it ending at a time when everyone is at work, or sleeping...you may not do as well. I have found listings that end on Sunday evenings do the best.
Good luck, and keep in mind that you may not always make money...sometimes you will break even, sometimes you will lose money...it is like gambling...just make sure that the overall end result puts you ahead rather than behind.

Here are a few helpful tricks to selling on eBay as I do sell every day.
What you will really need to know it what is hot sellers at the present time. A good way is to look at the eBay Puls as it will give you the hottest selling items for the day as well as for past days and weeks. Click this link to explore: http://pulse.ebay.com/
OK, so now you have a idea and you need to locate items.
Books sell well, but there is not much money in it. They are however a great way to build up your feedback as the more feedback you have the better your selling will be.
When you are in a store, look over the closeouts as well as the marked down items. Make a list of them and then do a search on eBay to see how items like those are selling. If they are selling well, go back and buy some to sell.
I did this with i-Dogs this past christmas. They list for $29.00 and up. I found 4 for $7.99 each and gave them a try. I sold all in 3 days and tripled my investment. So, WalMart had there Black Friday special and the i-Dogs were $10.00 each. I bought every one of them and in 2 weeks I was sold out. Profit was well over $600.00.
Check yard sales, flea markets as well. Tools sell good as well as old tools. If you have any discount stores, but the discount CD'S and Software. Re sell that on eBay as well.
This can go on and on, but only you can deside what works best for you.
Good luck on your eBay venture.

I personally sell things that I no longer want or need. I sell clothes, cds, books, computer games etc. I'm currently selling some clothes, some nintendo ds games, a couple of old mobiles and some books. Seems a bit slow this week though.

The best thing to do would be to look on the ebay rankings and see which items are popular at the moment. Then you could gather together as many of the items as you can get hold of and...money, money, money :)

It's free to start. You can download the eBooks from my site for free and start selling them on eBay straight away for $4-$5 a time and a number of times per day.

From my experience on ebay,, it needs to be old or unusual. There is so much stuff on there, it is hard to find a nich. But I have sold unusual stuff that I picked up at garage sales and second hand stores.

Get items that are very popular but hard to find, go on ebay and search the words "hard to find" or "rare" and that should give you an idea or two.
