So far, even the most brilliant quantum theorists cannot image what it would look like in more than four or five dimensions of space time. There are 10 spatial dimensions plus 1 dimension of time, however, there are some rumblings of a second time dimension (unconfirmed at this time).

The extra dimensions are wrapped up and tend to be very small. It is thought that have the extra dimensions would help to explain other properties of matter like electric charge, or why an electron has a particular charge.

The extra dimensions are wrapped up in things called manifolds. Some of them are very small others may be much larger and when they intersect they produce new properties of space.
