The NHL's longest winning streak belongs to the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins who won 17 straight games.

The longest losing streak in NHL history is the property of the 1974-75 Washington Capitals and the 1992-93 San Jose Sharks, each team losing 17 games in a row.

Not sure about losing streak, but the Washington Capitals of 74/75 went 8-67-5.
