6:40 p.m... When you're using 24 hour time, if the time is below 12, it is simply that time in the a.m. (For example, 8:40 would mean it is 8:40 a.m.) If the time is above 12:00 then you know the time is p.m., and you simply subtract 12 from the number to get the time in standard time. (For example, 18:40 would bb 6:40 p.m. because 18:40 - 12 is 6:40) I'm not sure if I've explained this well enough but I hope it helps, if not, I'm sure you can find some information about it on the web!

The 24-hour clock starts at 0:01 for one minute after midnight. Noon = 12:00 hours.
