Being healthy one day, and in a terrible accident the next day...so bad, that you lost your sight, mentality, and function in your arms and legs!!!

Having ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL of a given situation from happening.

Can't control death...truth be told, we're ALL going to die someday. No control over a divorce if you're the one not wanting the divorce, or being a child of parents who are going to divorce.

But I also think, if you are a parent who's child is missing, or may have been abducted, and you can't control whoever has them from hurting them, or find your child right at that moment when you realize they are missing... You can't control others to love you; to stop hurting themselves with drugs or unsafe behavior or committing an illegal act. You can't control severe weather like all storms, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, and such. No control of earthquakes, avalanches, strong fires. We can't control life-threating disease from taking your loved ones; the hurt they go through if they are going through treatment. Can't control an accident from happening. You can't control the hurt and pain your child is going through---emotional or physical. Find at the moment of birth (or later), that your child is born with some kind of challenge. When you're child has to finally grow up and live outside your home, into their own... What I find depressing is having no control at any given moment, that somewhere, out there is a child being abused...physically or sexually...

There is so much. And others have thought up other situations which are depressing.

And just this past Christmas Day, I went to the ER because I could not stop the uncontrolling pain going through the side of my face, causing uncontrolling vomitting and dizziness I felt all day. I had to keep my eyes closed the whole day to keep my dizziness somewhat at bay. Luckily it wasn't a stroke, but a severe pinched nerve. I couldn't control the fact that Christmas Day for my children was not a very joyful one.

I hope my answer wasn't too depressing. But I was asked this question before, and this is what I came up with...

The love of your life having an affair on you with someone that was supposed to be your friend, when nothing was wrong in your relationship, but they (the love of your life) were having a nervous breakdown and because of the depression could not reach out to you.

It is hard to just name one as there are so many. Seeing poor, sick, homeless little children always upsets me. Any kind of illness in children really. One thing that really is depressing to me personally is being cheated on. It is the most hurtful thing you can do to a partner you claim to love.

watching someone you love suffer enormously and being powerless to help, and then finally the person wants with all his might to die and eventually dies.

death is sometimes a relief, and better for the person who died.

divorce should be avoided, but if it happens, at least see it as a new beginning.
