First you should check with your pediatrician, and then check with other mother who have had the same problem. You might need to try a few different ones to find the right one for your baby.

Personally I do not like formula, as the iron content causes constipation in the babies.

I believe breast milk is the best, either breastfeeding, or pumping. If that is not an option, I prefer goats milk. It is the closest to mothers milk that you can get, and better in my opinion then formula.

First step is to talk to your pediatricain, as the problem might be something other then allergies.

Goat's Milk:

(Well technically the best is breastmilk, the second best is banked breastmilk. You can ask your doctor if there is a milk bank in your area, but it can be expensive. You need prescription to get milk from a milk bank. You could also relactate. Breastfeeding started up to 3 months after the baby is born has a good chance of success. But even if you could never get the latch right, or if you are uncomfortable you could pump and bottle feed)

Aside from talking to your child's pediatrician regarding the specific allergic reaction your child is having, the only two choices I know of are soymilk, or Enfamil's Nutramigen, which seems to work well for babies that have problems digesting other formulas. Similac also has a lactose free formula. See their websites for more information and to register with them for valuable coupons. You should be able to get samples of these from the pediatrician.

If the baby is allergic to milk, get the Lactose Free or Soy kind. If the baby is allergic to Soy, don't get the soy kind.

Speak to the doctor or health visitor if you feel that your baby needs a different sort of milk.

allergic to what?

cow's milk?- try breastmilk or soy

soy? try cows milk (based formula)

I have always liked enfamil. It doesn't smell nearly as bad as similac and you don't need as much per ounce of water (the scoop is much bigger for similac)

If your baby is allergic to milk, please take him or her to a doctor, not Yahoo Answers.
