Some people feel the need to be jerks? I asked a question earlier on how others cope with having a bad day and I got responses like "just suck it up" etc..etc.., why do people feel the need to be nasty on here. It's quite comforting to me to know that I am not alone in the way I feel about things, and I find most peoples ideas and/or coping stratagies helpful! What is the point for being mean?

The perfect example is the person who posted the first answer to this question. I guess it's okay to be a nasty, mean jerk because it's exercising the first amandement....give me a break!!!

well, it is in the interpretation of what was said. of course when people write here, you can't hear the 'metamessage'. something that looks sweet can be said in a scathing manner, and vice versa. Simply because a person is blunt about things, doesn't mean they are nasty. What if they tell themselves to 'just suck it up' everyday? They might. It is another way of saying 'cope with the situation until is passes'. Really, it is the same thing, just one is said in a less confrontational manner. You might not like their answer, but it is to the point. And you don't have to interpret that as nasty- it's curt, but not nasty. I also saw that you got some positive answers on that thread, too- so one strategy I will suggest (and I'm not being mean) is to focus on the positive suggestions you can do something with to help you through a crappy day.

Some people are jerks and are miserable themselves and want to make others just as miserable. Consider the source and ignore them. They get the 2 points whatever they answer, so they don't put any thought into what they are saying or care about how it affects the person asking for assistance or support.

Some people are just insecure about themselves and this is a way of airing their " superiority", I suppose.
I think we all need to remember that there are certain guidelines and the simple thing is to follow them, period.
Using respect is a sign of maturity, and has nothing to do with age, race, gender or any other thing. So to maybe be supportive to you, I will say it,; to all those who want to waste their time being cruel, take a look at the mirror's reflection, and then maybe, just maybe, it will sink in.
Have a fabulous day , keep the faith

What people here think or say doesn't matter. What does your family and friends say? How do you feel about yourself? I stopped worrying about what others think a long time ago. As long as I can sleep at night knowing that I did the best I could and didn't put my integrity on the line. Who cares if that jerk want to exercise his first admendment right. I have spent a lifetime defending his rights, and usually don't get much thanks for it.

all of us, Christian or not would not comprehend the place or comprehend the solutions they discover in the bible. whilst a individual is going to varsity and reads a e book on a concern, they nevertheless desire added preparation and interpretation from others to greater completely comprehend. for this reason they attend a class on the area. maximum Christians on Yahoo solutions are posting valid questions, searching for valid solutions from different Christians yet are harrassed via non-Christians who don't have the different objective in this talk board than to harrass. given which you sense the bible has all the solutions, what are you doing here?
