Which one do you have the fondest memories of? I have a similar past of moving around and I just think of the place that I had the fondest memories as my "hometown."

San Diego is beautiful, and an awesome town. Sounds like you could call it home since you've been there a few times already, but... it's ok to not have a hometown yet. Go experience some life, visit more of the country, and find a place that you can call your hometown. Find a place that fits your personality, and has geography and people you like. You'll call it your hometown soon enough.

This is often difficult for people whose families moved a lot. If I were you, I'd tell people that I'm originally from Oakland, but I grew up in Japan and San Diego.

Are you over 18 now? If so, you can make your hometown what you want it to be. It could be the place where you live now.
If you are a minor, the answer might depend on where your parents/guardians live.
The past is past. The answer to the question now is:"it depends".
If you get really successful, many places may want to claim you as a "homegirl.".
Place of residence is only a bit more complicated. It would depend on your intention. Voting rights and university discounts for in-state tuition might require a bit more detailed information.

My dad was in the Army so I never had a home town either, but now I claim the place I graduated high school.
"Hometown is primarily used as a generic term for the city or town in which someone grew up, or the place of someone's principal residence."
I guess this means you can pick anyplace you've ever lived and claim it as home.
Good Luck!

Do what I did and choose the one you want. If you are depending on someone else choosing then San Diego as you seem to have spent the most time there at an age with friends your own age.

*blinks* wow you moved a lot. It kinda depends on how you define a hometown. I guess it would be where you spent the longest as you grew up. Normally I'd say where you where born but I'm not sure if you'd classify it as a hometown. o.o sorry if I'm not help.

I don't really think you would have one, you would just have several hometowns, not just one. I think its pretty cool that you have lived in all of those places. I was born in Switzerland, but I've lived in the US for all my life.
