It seems that it would be a better course of action to extensively investigate a nominees business and financial history!!
Big business and special interest shouldn't have such a strong voice in the administration.
Government exists to serve ALL it's citizens not just the top 5%. Or the other foreign Big Wig's!!

Bush admitted to overcoming a drinking problem ...
I do not look upon Obama negatively for doing a little coke years ago. Its what he has done now and recently that matters.
Which in Obama's case is not much. He hasnt had much experience.
Thats what matters regarding him.. that and his ideologies.
And where does this 30% approval rating come from???
If you take an average of every poll from december from 11 different polling media he has an approval rating of 36. And not a single one of those 11 is 30 or below.
Bad yes... but you and others have either regurgitated something you heard without checking it out for yourself , or you are lying.

The job of the President is to run the executive branch, not be popular. Leaders operate by leading, not by following polls. Polls, after all, are created by the media on slow news days.
Experimentation by baby boomers was the norm, not the exception. The idea is that they hopefully got over it. Just like booze was big with the previous generation, and some of our leaders certainly haven't gotten over that... "Just ask Osama Bama, Wamma...er, hic!"
Previous experimentation with drugs and focus group results are not important. Issues are important. Socialism and State Capitalism vs Free Enterprise Capitalism; State vs Individual; isolationism vs global security. High taxes vs the Laffer curve. But don't expect to see such things discussed during the next election cycle... Issues are just not juicy enough to be newsworthy.

Please--I'm much more concerned about current trends and positions than the things you did 10 years ago when you were figuring out who you were...besides, GW has the Camp David escapades, so no real claims of sainthood there, either. A candidate's present behavior and views are much more relevent, but his/her past might shed some compassion or add depth to their decisions.

You people criticized Bush because he did cOKe in his youth but now it is ok for Obamma because Bush has a 30% approval rating. Besides I am rich and I never lived in a trailer park and I never did drugs. I don't like Obamma and I like him even less now that I know he is a druggie.
