Does anyone out there think that kids in the future will assume that the emergency phone number 911 was made because of 9/11?
I'm just curious because these myth start up and I also don't mean to offend anyone, as I said, just curious

its possible sure . i know that a great many lives have been lost because in north america we use 911 but in europe the number 999. so many people adults and kids mostly kids get this idea that the number they need to call is 911 in europe and then they waste time and may even give up
my brother a paramedic told me about this. he says the number one show that seems to have this impact is the simpsons
sad but true.

No, a myth is something more difficult to disprove I think. The use of 911 can easily be traced back well before the attacks of 9/11.

yeah, that's always creeped me out a bit. I think that kids WILL think of that, but right now we don't know if 9/11 is really that influential to our future. it may be a HUGE deal in a few hundred year or everyone may forget; we just don't know yet.
