yes the depo provera injection is a birth control shot that is given every three months. no its not "up your ***". you can have it in your hips, or your triceps. your health care provider will ask you on your first visit where you want the shot. If you say your arm, they will then alternate between your left arm and right arm every three months when you return for your next shot. The same applies if you opt to have the shot in your hip.
The shot has its pro's and cons, so if you decide you want to go on it, you should read up on it first. consult with your doctor and ask him/her if its right for you. there are also sites on the web that offer great advice on the depo shot. here's one of them :

Yes it's called the depo-provera shot. Given every 3 months. It could be given on the arm. It depends on the person, but I bled for a whole month straight and then stopped bleeding for a week and then started again after being off a week. Doctors say it's normal, some have long periods and some stop having their periods. Also some people do gain weight from it also.

Yes it is caulled the Depo Provera, and yes it in put into your bum cheek (as its th largest muscle on the body) and they alternate wich butt cheek it goes into every 3 months.
I was on it for 3 years and it stopped my periods compleatly, and when i came off it took 11 months to get my periods back to normal and evr since i came off it my periods are the worest i have ever had.
I would never go back on it again, i suggest that it should be used by women whao have already had children and dont want anymore not somebody who is going to want children after being on it as it takes a very long time to get out of your system.

Yep... Depo-Provera is the 3 month shot. It doesn't have to be in the buttocks, just intramuscular, so I think you can use your arm as well (although buttocks are supposed to be more painless).
Its a Progesterone shot that prevents ovulation although you may have problems with irregular periods.
