I recently bought an ATI Raedeon 9200 AGP video card for my PC. I am good with computers and can't figure out why my computer reboots when I play World of Warcraft. First I thought it was the card and returned it for another one. Same problem. Then I thought it was the power supply so first I bought a 400 watt and tonight i just put a 500 watt one in there and same problem. I have downloaded and tried every combination of drivers (including the correct ones!) WTF!? Some people tell me to look in BIOS other people tell me never to touch BIOS because this card is plug and play. Please help I'm going insane.

Could be one of many problems or more than one alone. Could be that the power supply voltage is not holding steady. This can be easily done with poor power conditioning such as running the computer while the clothes drier is running or even in old homes the fridge bouncing on and off can do some quirky things. To resolve this, try a power supply from pc power and cooling at http://www.pcpowercooling.com/home/ and also get a battery backup to help condition the power to prevent voltage changes such as an back up UPS from http//www.apc.com

As far as the computer goes, you might not have the sufficient direct X from microsoft. Check if your video card can handle what version you have loaded and what your game demands to run satisfactorily.

To check this, click start-->run--> type "dxdiag"-->click ok

Otherwise you may have software interfering with your game such as an antivirus, in which case you will have to add your game to its trusted zone or exclusion list.

You might not have the correct service pack loaded. Some video editing software I've used in the past were not compatible with WinXP SP2. Then again, maybe you need, but don't have, SP2.

Last thing I can think of that is reasonable is that you have an IRQ interference problem. Keep the PCI slot adjacent to your video card free of all other cards and make sure your sound card is located the furthest away from it, i.e. at the bottom.

Other than that, the last resort would be that you might have a virus or malware that is causing unforseen errors in your computer configuration.

You are probably stressing that card too much, that card is not nearly good enough to play WOW, except maybe on the lowest of settings. I would suggest you invest in at least a decent video card, the 9200 is not worth more than $20.

if it doesnt have a fan on it the card may be overheating ... depending on ur case and cooling the northbridge or processor may be overheating also ... and look through bios settup and make sure that any onboard video is disabled and agp settings are correct... after that i would download driver cleaner and follow the instructions and make sure u have dec release directx.

pass with a 500 sequence from nVidia or a 6000 sequence from AMD. without a funds i'm not precisely beneficial which one you may get yet those would be suitable for many modern video games and lots comprise 1gb or greater.

In the bios, the agp speed should be set to 8x or 4x or whichever is the highest your mobo supports, and check to see if fastwrites is enabled. If it is, disable it, and vice versa.
