It depends on which "reds" you are referring to. The Communists certainly want the US to be a third world, and that would include many of the "blues" of our politicians.

However, if you are implying that Republicans are seeking this, I would suggest you look deeper, for it is specifically that, that they seek to prevent.

To make a third world country, all you have to do is take away the rights of prosperity and property, then erode the civil constructs that keep a country together. I don't see any American "reds" doing that. But I do see a whole lot of democrat americans seeking to make a tax hell of America for the sake of a few, and that is alone "destructionist", for the people cannot afford the desires of the socialist Americans. And we may soon find this out over the next two years.

they want to get rid of the middle class and upward motility entirely, they want to become the ruling class, and the more desperate people are, the cheaper they will work (if you read, read "The Grapes of Wrath")
