math help please(rational numbers)?

Question

what number is between 2 and 2 in a half(it can be any number)
also what number is between 3 and 3 in a hlaf(can be any #)




what is a rational number for example

find a rational # between

please help coz its reall confusing for me to understand so plz explain it to me on how to do it

A rational number is any number that can be expressed as a/b when a and b are both integers

3/8 = 9/24
4/6 = 16/24
Number between them is 11/24

1). Go halfway between 2 and 2 1/2 to get 2 1/4.
2). Go halfway between 3 and 3 1/2 to get 3 1/4
3).General rule: To find a rational number between
any 2 rational numbers, average them. That is,
add them and divide by 2.
To do the example you gave, write 4/6 = 2/3.
We want a rational number between 3/8 and 2/3.
3/8 = 9/24
2/3 = 16/24.
3/8 + 2/3 = 25/24.
Now divide by 2:
25/24 / 2 = 25/24 *1/2 = 25/48.
When I taught at University here, this was
a problem most missed on a test!

well u need the 2#s to have a common denometer. so wats the lowest # that 8 and 6 go into?its 24. so 6 goes into 24 4 times and u multiple the numerater by that. so 4 times 4=16.. no u do it for the other it goes in 3 times and=9 so wats between nine and 16?? 10,11, 12,13,14,15 make sure u put ur answer over 24 tho
