Males have an 'i' and females have a 'y' when you turn them over. go to www.cavyspirit.com and there is an article on sexing guinea pigs, which should help! It can be quite difficult to sex them, and hence many pet store guinea pig sows are pregnant when you buy them!

Both female and males have y shaped "bits", by their but, but on males, there's a round dot above theirs.
